Still Here, Just Dormant
It’s been a long while since I’ve posted anything here. It’s been a fairly rough summer and winter here, but I’m trying to get my act together a little bit. I sent out a fairly significant redesign of the chucklehound.com website today, as well as a few little tweaks to the blogs. I think I might need to grant myself an amnesty on the backlog of logging I have to do. Maybe just start with the most recent entries and work backwards if I really get inspired. Anyway, there should be new content here fairly soon.
Also, I’m nearly done with listening to my collection of 2009 releases, so I should be able to put together a Best of 2009 list before the month’s over. If I really get ambitious, I could try for a Best of Decade list. I’ve also got a bunch of selections from my alphabetical listening (which has largely stalled out somewhere in the O’s), but I’m not sure anyone actually downloads/enjoys those.

New Year’s Resolution
I’m not entirely sure anyone reads this blog, but, if so, you may have noticed that I’ve gotten a little behind with my attempts to log every piece of media I consume. I got hammered at work and then I just got overwhelmed with the backlog. For the last couple days I’ve been doing retroactive writeups, which are nearly complete (as I write this, Movies, Books, and Shows are all up to date). I’ll be finishing up TV and Comics tomorrow, most likely.
Once that’s done, I am going to try make a concerted effort to be more productive this year. I’m going to spend an hour a day doing some sort of work for myself – writing up my mini-reviews, working on screenplays, recording music, writing short stories. Once I have things done, I’ll be posting them here, so you should see slightly more regular updates. If it looks like I haven’t been updating regularly, please hassle me and make sure I’m keeping up with my plan.
Also, I’ll be putting up my best of the year lists for albums and movies at some point in the near future, as well as selections from my ongoing attempts at alphabetical listening of my music collection (which also means that older selections from previous will be going away, so grab those if you haven’t already).

General Updates
I feel like I’ve been neglecting this blog quite a bit, but, by breaking out discussions of movies, shows, tv, books; I find I have very little to talk about. We’ve settled into a pretty mellow lifestyle up here. Several days of work followed by weekends spent doing yard work, watching movies, seeing bands, and hanging out with friends. All of which is very pleasant (aside from the work aspect, which continues to be horrible), but gives me very little to write about.
That said, couple things of note. I’ve got another batch of songs from my alphabetical listening experiment coming up shortly, then, once November begins, I’ll be trying, yet again, to successfully complete National Novel Writing Month. I’ve actually been plotting out my story significantly more than I have in previous attempts, so hopefully that’ll pay off in the form of a completed novel.
I’d like to post chunks of the novel as I finish them – both to satisfy any curious readers and to use the fear of public shaming as a motivational tool for myself. So, how should I do it? Post each chapter as a blog entry? Have a static page to which I append chapters as I finish them? Thoughts? Anyone?

Apologies, Color Change
I feel bad about the lack of updates, but most of the weekend (and much of last week) was sucked up with highly frustrating computer work. Once that’s all done, I’ll do a proper buildlog post, but want to wait until I have the photos and such.
Aside from that, I did a quick redesign on the Chucklehound site (and, by extension, this blog). The green colorscheme was continuing to bother me, and I liked the work Matthew and I did on his site, so I went with a similar, blue-ish color scheme here. For anyone who misses the old green version, there’s a link in the footer to switch back to that. Anyone reading this have any opinions or feedback?

Logs!
I’ve been trying, off and on, to keep track of the media I consume. I’ve got assorted scraps of paper with lists of films watched and when, but I need someplace to consolidate the data. For a while, I was storing it in my Myspace profile, but now you have to go through a captcha to update your profile, so that’s not really a good option.
So, I’ve decided to create a whole bunch more blogs here, as you may have noticed by the new nav element at the top of the page. Lists of things I watch, read, or attend. Often with very short and possibly incoherent reviews. Read them if you want, or not. They’re mostly for my own organizational purposes, so I won’t be offended if you don’t.

New Blog Home, Website Redesign, etc.
As you may have noticed, this blog is no longer hosted on my 360 page, but is now living over on my main website (though, I’m using Blogger to provide the back end). I’ve migrated all my posts from 360 (though, I missed some of the embedded images), so everything should be here and working. Please let me know if it’s not.
Also, as the really observant of you may have noticed, this page has a very different look and feel than the main Chucklehound site. I’m in the middle of applying this skin to the site on the whole, as well as a pretty significant code-rewrite to make the site less dependent on the slightly odd language of TCL. I still love TCL, but it’s a pain finding hosting providers that support it, so I’ll be migrating everything over to PHP. As a result, the links up at the top don’t all work quite right, so might want to avoid using them for until I give the all clear. Mostly (and I’m assuming here only friends and family make their way here), I just wanted to get some feedback on what you think of the new layout. Complaints? Adjustments? Anything?
