About Me
After a little time has passed, I think I've come around a bit on my position on this one. After watching it, I felt the third act revelation that the whole "ghost created by sexual abuse" was a little cliché and sort of undercut that fairly enjoyable ghost story leading up to it (and that it made the whole framing element a little too heavy-handed). I'm still not convinced that the framing element was particularly needed, but I've started to feel that the premise is a little less out of left field and unoriginal than I initially felt. I think perhaps that any time you get into a combination of supernatural forces and daughters being raped by their fathers you're likely to draw some comparisons to Twin Peaks, but I am willing to admit that that might just be me.
